An ode to Renee……by Tony or Tonee.
Ladies and Gents of the Pacific Sunrise,
I have a true story to tell.
Of a girl tender, loving and wise,
who has all men under her spell.
She does all the work on this big boat of ours
And all of us know it is right
And Captain Wayne is a frightened man
Banished to his wheelhouse at night…..
…..and the diving main man, Paul’s losing face
He’s decided to leave his post.
And has left Diving Dan to take his place
To be hounded by her and her ghost.
For although she is everywhere, day and night
When she sleeps with the rest of the crew
Her spirit walks the decks, and will give you a fright
If you’re not one of the chosen few.
And if you want to join the chosen few group
Like Eli with the shades and the hat
Then you jump when she says through every hoop
And lay down as her daily doormat.
Fail to sign her list, you’re considered a pain
Tell her you’re just here for the beer
Her stare reminds you not to do it again
Or the punishment will be most severe.
For I upset her, Hels says I do it often
Didn’t mean to, I tried to do my best
But she got Gordon, my mate and gave him a pen
Tattooed noughts and crosses on my chest
But when she gets herself worked into a state
It’s that cooking girl keeps the lid on the pot
That Stacey lass, who puts food on our plate
Who is angelic, beautiful, thoughtful, considerate, kind, funny, generous….well she has the lot!
But our cook Stacey needs help every day
From this girl who’ll get her hands dirty
And she celebrates her Birthday today
And is now the wrong side of thirty.
Now a warning
So to avoid her spirit on the mainland
I can tell you there is only one way
Give a good report on your feedback
And remember her name is Renee.
Written to help celebrate Renee’s 30th Birthday on the Pacific Sunrise trip to the Whitsunday Islands
with the group of 17, from 24th to 27th March 2010.
