Pacific Sunrise sails this coming Wednesday 24th March 2010 as she is completely unaffected by the Cyclone that past at the weekend. We like to thank our suppliers who are going out of their way to assist with provisioning, stores and supplies to ensure that we continue to offer the first class dining experience while cruising amongst the Whitsunday Islands in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.
Tropical Cyclone Ului crossed the Queensland coast at Airlie Beach on the morning of the 21st March 2010. A category 3 cyclone, winds at more than 200 km/h battered the Whitsunday region.
Whitsunday Coral Cruises thank that people that called, concerned about our well being and happily report that staff, families, homes and Pacific Sunrise.
Berthed at Abel Point Marina, Pacific Sunrise was readied for the cyclone in the days leading up to the storm event as part of our cyclone preparation plan.
At the time of writing, electricity had not been restored, limiting our ability to communicate with our customers. We await updates from Ergon for estimated time for power restoration.
