Whales pass through the Whitsundays
on their annual migration from the the colder Southern
seas
to tropical months during the Winter. Humpback Whales
and other species come all the way
from Antarctica to calve and breed in the warm sheltered
waters of the Whitsunday Islands.
The official months for whale season is from July to
September with some sightings outside that
time.
Very strict guidelines are in place for the protection
of these magnificent mammals and we do not provide
specific whale watching tours. In the Whitsundays we
are very lucky to have the whales stay in these calm
waters so most trips during the season you will see
whales.
