The majestic Cid Harbour is located on the Western side of Whitsunday Island. This beautiful and naturally protected anchorage is a favourite for the modern day boating community. Before this war time navy, timber endevours, early settlers and earlier still, the local indigineous. The history aside it is picturesque place for a number of reasons.
To the West, is the enclosing island of Cid stands. To the North, Dugong Inlet meanders into the island. To the East, the highest peak in the island group, Whitsunday Peak towers over head at 1357 metres. To the South, Sawmill bay.
